Dishonest company. The worst scam in getting you to book. Then steel your money. Booked a Cruise out of Baltimore Maryland. The governor of Md closed the port to all Cruises due to Covid 19 on March 14 th and a stay at home order was issued by the State and the CDC declares it level 4 unsafe to travel. I cancelled my family trip 2 weeks later. RCCL kept half my money with the excuse I canceled before the cruise was canceled by them. Before booking I was promised by the RCCL agent that if it became unsafe to travel, I would get 100% refund. If though this is recorded they lie just to get you to book. There should be a class action law suit. I am sure I am not alone. I’m out $11,000 for a cruise that never sailed
My husband and I were booked for a March 23rd cruise out of Bayonne. As the date approached and the virus became frightening, we postponed the cruise because that was the only option. A few days later RC cancelled the cruise and offered a refund or a future credit at 125 percent. We chose the refund, but were denied. They insisted that we "chose" to postpone the cruise. No choice was involved. We had no other option a few days earlier. They just told us that their decision was final. We are out $4,000! After cruising with them for decades, this is how we are being treated. To say that we are outraged is an understatement. That is a great deal of money that they are taking from us. We are in our 70's and don't expect to cruise again given the pandemic and other issues with regard to health. RC repaid our trust in them by treating us like garbage. Furthermore, when I tried to tell my story on their blog, I was refused registration and could not comment.

We have cruised RCCL for decades and WERE super loyal to the brand until now. With COVID we had a cruise canceled like the rest of the world. We were super sensitive to what everyone, including companies were going through to navigate successfully. We decided on a refund vs. cruise credit as we are talking thousands of dollars that I would rather have in my bank collecting interest. Cruise was canceled on 2/25 and at that time a full refund was requested/committed to. It is now 5/4 and we are still waiting on our refund. I have reached out several times - first being told the normal 14-30 days is now up to 45 days. At 45 days I pinged them and they stated "a box was not checked holding up my payment" now they will make sure it is in the next 10 days... here we are still no payment. I totally get how hard this must be on the cruise lines, but to hold my money for over two months now is absurd and feels almost criminal. This has changed, dramatically, how I feel about RCCL future forward. I work in business and know that there is no way that it takes this long to return money to any customer. I have filed a case with the BBB but am not confident that will do anything. It is clear from the other reviews in here that they simply do not care.
After we paid the deposit for a cruise in may they wanted us to pay the full price even tho they knew we wouldn’t be travelling because of the pandemic. Awful customer service, No help what so ever. Will definitely not be booking with this lot again! Awful company!!
So we booked a transatlantic cruise for April 16, 2020. They stopped cruising April 1, due to covid. Ok. We chose to take a credit in leu of a refund. That’s where we made our first mistake. We decided to use the credit for a cruise to Mexico, as family trip. BUT we couldn’t use the credit for the family cruise, we could only use the credit for another cruise for us. The credit was non transferable. So we gave them MORE MONEY and used part of our credit for the family cruise. And when I say family I mean us, all six kids, the grand parents and the grandchild! But now, they have canceled the 2nd cruise, that was scheduled for February, and now they are supposed to reopen in March. So we tried to transfer our family cruise to March 18. Same cruise, same itinerary, jus a month later. THEY TRIPLED THE PRICE!! and they won’t transfer the reservation! They want more money! OVER MY DEAD BODY! So now we will not be going to Mexico with Royal Caribbean, and we will not be going on a Scandinavian cruise in October to St Petersburg,to Denmark, Germany, and to Stockholm. Instead I will take my 7k and I will give it to somebody else that actually wants my money, and gives a crap about customer service! and I hope that Royal Caribbean goes bankrupt. Because they don’t know anything about customer service, they don’t seem to care about customer service and I know damn good and well that they don’t give a crap about their employees! ROYAL CARIBBEAN SUCKS!
PS-because my husband has changed bank accounts they’re not going to return our money until 45 days. Because they have to try to put it into the old bank account that doesn’t exist first, even though we’ve told them that it doesn’t exist! Buyer beware!
We chose to use an agent for our cruise with CruisesOnly the cruise line RC. "Cruise with confidence" is the claim RC makes, when in fact they do not have the ability to fulfill this obligation. I understand with the pandemic come setbacks. However, the pandemic was not the customers fault either, yet we are the ones penalized! I paid for insurance and deposit twice! This was nonrefundable (approximately $300-375)! Now, we have been unsuccessful at receiving a refund for a cruise that we cannot take because the final booking changed port of call and ship. We have been repeatedly promised a refund from Royal Caribbean, yet are still waiting! On top of this, I have proof from email that we were promised over $200 more than what they are planning to refund of our money! I am so disappointed! It has been almost 3 months since cancellation and still no refund! On top of not receiving the amount that we originally paid for the cruise. DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY WITH THEM!

If I could give this company a "0", I would! I booked a cruise with Royal for my first time for my Honeymoon. At the time of booking, the COVID cases were declining so I felt a little more comfortable about this. Well, COVID cases are on the rise and I am very afraid of getting COVID while taking this cruise. I reached out to Customer Relations for assistance but they have been VERY nasty and rude and will not refund my money. They could care less about the customers at this point and are willing to put them at risk for a few bucks. This has left my honeymoon at risk now with no other money to do something else. I explained the whole situation but Tiffany Gomez from Guest Relations gave me a blanket statement and said any of my other emails will not be responded to. I booked this cruise because everyone raves of how good of a customer service this company has but this is NOT good customer service or pro-customer. Would never ever use or book with this cruise line again.

I GIVE 1☆ ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE TO IN ORDER TO WRITE THIS REVIEW?!?!
MY CRUISE WAS CANCELLED IN MARCH AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK - I AM SO DISSAPOINTED!!!!
I CONSIDERED MYSELF LOYAL TO RC HAVING CRUISED WITH THEM ON MANY AN OCCASSION, AND I UNDERSTAND THEY ARE SUFFERING FINANCIALLY FROM COVID HOWEVER, I AM NOT A RICH PERSON - I SAVE UP 12 -18 MONTHS FOR MY CRUISE HOLIDAYS. SO TO HAVE TO WAIT 10 MONTHS FOR A REFUND I FEEL IS VERY UNLOYAL OF RC.
I FEEL THEY WILL LOSE A LOT OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS AFTER THIS CRISIS.....
Don't book on Royal Caribbean. We made reservations in December 2019 before COVID was happening. Now I don't feel safe being on a cruise ship. Our cruise is scheduled for May 2021, but I have no confidence things will be better by then. Royal Caribbean intends to start sailing again and force customers to wear masks on board and social distance. How is this even possible. I did not sign up for the experience of masks and social distancing on a ship that is already crowded in many areas by nature. They are not able to fulfill what they signed up for, so why are they not willing to refund our deposit? They have offered their lift and shift as well as cruise with confidence programs. These are both incredibly restrictive and are no good if I don't feel comfortable getting on a cruise anytime in the next couple years. Until COVID is not a thing, I don't feel good about being on a cruise ship. None of their protocols make me feel any safer. They will only add tremendous inconvenience and make for an unpleasant experience.
They cancelled our cruise. So we wanted to help the industry so said we would re-book. However when you go on the website the price they advertise is not the price you will be charged. Such a con. Didn't want any extras. Just wanted the room price advertised, but it wasn't available.

I used the lift and shift to change my cruise due to covid. As I had already purchased the drink package for the original cruise, I was told this could not be transferred into the new one, but I would receive a refund. After 30 days I rang again as no refund had been made, to which RC said they had added the value to the cruise price despite the fact I had clearly requested a refund... So this time I was told I would need to wait another 30 days for a refund..... 60 days later.. I ring the RC and am being told the refund is still pending.
Avoid!!! They take your money and don't give it back!!!!!!!!!
I will never consider Royal Caribbean Cruise Line again. They cancelled our cruise and refused to give us a refund. I will do everything I can to discourage my family, friends and acquaintances from booking a cruise with RCL. I won't shed a single tear if they go bankrupt and cease operations.
Worst customer service ever! They cancelled our cruise due to COVID which we totally understood and we selected a refund instead of a credit and that it could take up to 45 days to process. I waited the 45 days and then tried to call them to find out why I hadn’t received it. It took over 2 hours on the phone with ridiculous service to determine that they’d make a ‘mistake’ and had processed a credit instead of a refund and that I would need to wait a further 30 days to receive the refund. They were utterly useless and I still haven’t received the refund and not sure I ever will. I will never use this company again as long as I live. Beyond disappointed.
